Al reconocer los retos enfrentados por los reclutadores militares, la ley NCLB requiere a las escuelas secundarias proveer a los reclutadores militares, según lo soliciten, el acceso a nombres, direcciones y números telefónicos de los alumnos ―juniors‖ y ―seniors‖. La ley también requiere a las escuelas secundarias el divulgar información a universidades o a cualquier otra institución de estudios superiores, según se requiera. Si usted no quiere que FWISD divulgue esta información sin su consentimiento por escrito, debe de notificar a su director por escrito dentro de los diez (10) primeros días después de la publicación de este aviso. Si no se provee la notificación por escrito dentro de los diez (10) días, se divulgará la información estudiantil a reclutadores militares o de universidades según se solicite. Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Minimum Standard for the Academic Achievement Record states that it is illegal to withhold the transcript because the student or the family owes money to the school or for any other reason. In addition, Section 28.022 of the Texas Education Code provides that schools must give notice of a student’s grades at least once every 12 weeks. The District must comply with Section 28.022 regardless of non-payment of fines. The student or family has the right to the exact, unaltered, unofficial replica of the original file document, including any signatures, embossed stamps, school seals, or other certifying documentation already affixed to the Academic Achievement Record. A school must not alter the Academic Achievement Record in any way when providing a copy to the student or family. B. The official document mailed to the universities, colleges, employers, or other entities at the request of the student or family will be directly mailed from the school to the authorized requesting institution without the possibility of alteration. This copy may not be given to the student or parent. The transcript will be marked or stamped ―Official Copy‖ only at the time of its authorized release to another institution. This stamp may not be placed on the copy provided to the student or family. The embossed seal should also be used on official copies of the Academic Achievement Record (Consent to Release High School Transcript form is located in the forms section). C. The transfer of an Academic Achievement Record may not be withheld from schools to which a student transfers for any reason. The transcript must be forwarded to the receiving district within 10 working days of a student’s enrollment in that District. 2.20.II Diploma A. It is the Academic Achievement Record, not the diploma, that is used to differentiate individual accomplishments, achievements and graduation program completion as outlined in 19 TAC § 74.14(a). 12-13 SY Bulletin Number One 34 Revised: 10/9/2012
B. Diplomas are not awarded to students who pass the General Education Development (GED) exams, unless they complete the requirements of one (1) of the graduation programs and pass the exit-level TAKS. 2.20.IIISeals to Indicate Completion of Various Academic Programs At least one (1) of the graduation seals adopted by the State Board of Education to indicate completion of a graduation program must be affixed to each student’s Academic Achievement Record in the upper right-hand corner to indicate which of the academic programs the student completed as outlined in 19 TAC § 74.14(d). 2.21 Graduation Plans and Requirements Texas Education Law TEC 28.025(b), requires that Grade 9 students be enrolled in courses necessary to complete the curriculum requirements identified by the State Board for the Recommended or Advanced High School program (see Distinguished Achievement Program) unless the student, his/her parent/guardian, and a school counselor or school administrator agree that the student should be permitted to take courses under the minimum High School program. Documentation of the meeting to change the graduation program is required.
