• a score on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT)
that qualifies a student for recognition as a commended scholar or higher by the College Board
and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, as part of the National Hispanic Recognition
Program (NHRP) of the College Board or as part of the National Merit Scholarship
Corporation. The PSAT/NMSQT score shall count as only one advanced measure regardless
of the number of honors received by the student.
III. College courses (concurrent enrollment)
College academic courses approved for dual credit, with a letter grade of an A or B as reported by
the college instructor or a 3.0 or higher on the college transcript can qualify for an advanced
measure and will receive weighted credit toward the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA). Each
three-hour college credit course earns 1 advanced measure. See the dual credit charts posted on
the Advanced, Accelerated, and Innovative Learning Department’s website.
All college courses and original research/projects must receive prior approval before registration
in college courses and before beginning research or project; students must follow all FWISD
procedures related to these advanced measures (see your Programs of Study or Programs of
Choice Coordinator). A record of completed advanced measures will be compiled by the campus
Academic Coordinator and noted on the student’s transcript.
Requirements regarding cumulative End of Course (EOC) examination scores, will soon become
additional requirements for students entering Grade 9 in 2011-2012 and thereafter to graduate
under the Distinguished Achievement Program.
These additional EOC requirements include the following:
Taking all 15 EOC assessments;
Meeting the required cumulative cut score in each of the foundation content areas; and
Meeting Level III Advanced Academic performance, the postsecondary-readiness
performance, on the Algebra II and English III EOC.
Advanced Measures are not required for the Minimum Graduation Plan or Recommended High
School Program.
school year 2011-2012)
designated as Dual Credit/Honors level courses in Bulletin 100. All students taking Honors,
and Dual Credit courses must be enrolled in the course no later than 10 days from the first day of
when determining class rank and the positions of valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating
class. Listed below are the value equivalencies:
