6.1 Outside Agency Access to students<br />

Section 6: Non-Instructional Activities<br />

If a Law Enforcement Agency (police, sheriff, etc) or someone from the Child Protective Services (CPS)<br />

division of the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory services asks to question a student on your<br />

campus or seeks to remove a student from your campus as part of an investigation you must complete the<br />

Outside Agency Access to Students Administrative Regulation Form in the forms section.<br />

6.2 Transportation Regulations<br />

6.2.I Transportation for School Attendance<br />

Transportation is provided for all handicapped children and for children who live beyond a twomile<br />

radius from their assigned school. Children who attend special interest academic programs<br />

beyond a two (2)-mile radius will receive transportation from their home elementary school or<br />

designated pick up points.<br />

Elementary school ―Schools of Choice‖ (SOC) and ―Programs of Choice‖ (POC) bus stop<br />

locations will be at elementary campuses. Middle school SOC and POC bus stop locations will be<br />

at middle school campuses. High school SOC and Gold Seal POC bus stop locations will be at<br />

middle school campuses. The Transportation Department will consider stop requests for locations<br />

greater than two miles from the designated home elementary/middle school campus. All<br />

additional stops will be based on greatest concentration of students to be served in an area.<br />

Except on a ―space available basis,‖ transportation is not provided for ―hazardous walking routes‖<br />

within the two (2)-mile radius. Transportation will not be provided for transfer students.<br />

All requests for changes of stops or for additional stops or routes will be submitted by the<br />

principal to the director of transportation for consideration. All requests should be submitted on<br />

Form 622.<br />

The District shall provide or pay for the transportation of a student to a higher-performing public<br />

school operated by another district, if the District is identified for corrective action, or to another<br />

public school within the District if the student’s school:<br />

1. Has been identified for school improvement;<br />

2. Has failed to make adequate yearly progress by the end of the first full school year after<br />

identification for school improvement;<br />

3. Has had corrective action implemented by the District for failure to make adequate yearly<br />

progress by the end of the second full school year after identification for school improvement;<br />

or,<br />

4. Has failed to make adequate yearly progress after one full school year of corrective action.<br />
