4.3.3 Wiring unused channels of the analog input modules<br />

Rules<br />

Pay attention to the following instructions when wiring unused channels:<br />

• "Disable" unused input channels when setting parameters.<br />

• A disabled channel always returns the value 7FFFH.<br />

• The module cycle time is halved with the standard modules 2AI U, 2AI I 2WIRE,<br />

2AI I 4WIRE, 2AI RTD Standard, 2AI RTD High Feature and 2AI TC Standard,<br />

2AI TC High Feature.<br />

• The cycle time remains unchanged with the standard module 4AI I 2WIRE.<br />

• The cycle time remains unchanged at 1 ms with the HIGH SPEED modules 2AI U,<br />

2AI I 2WIRE and 2AI I 4WIRE.<br />

• To maintain the allowable potential differences (UCM) bridges must be wired at the<br />

terminal module with the unused channels. This is required with the following modules:<br />

2AI U Standard<br />

Analog Input Module<br />

2AI RTD Standard, 2AI RTD High<br />

Feature, 2AI TC High Feature<br />

2AI TC Standard<br />

2AI U High Speed<br />

TM connection terminal<br />
