The tourbillon is exceptional in that it serves as an hour hand, indicating not solar time, but sidereal time, which is determined by the stars. The gong of the minute repeater is crafted from a special alloy and machined from a single piece, endowing it with an unusually rich sound. Its fascinatingly original conception is based on a split-level structure. The dial is divided between an upper part displaying the hours and minutes as well as the perpetual calendar indications, and a lower part on which a slight difference of level shows off the prominent tourbillon. The grade 5 titanium carriage is so light that the 78-part tourbillon escapement weighs a mere 0.28g!
