CHRONOGRAPHS, SPLit-SECONdS ANd FLybACk CHRONOGRAPHS PiAGEt PiAGEt POLO FORtyFiVE – REF. G0A34002 The Piaget Polo FortyFive model is made of titanium. It reinterprets the original aesthetic in a case that is watertight to 100m, mounted on a strap made of injection-molded rubber, and expanded to a diameter of 45mm. In addition to its chronograph and flyback functions, the in-house 880P caliber displays the hours and minutes, along with small seconds at 6:00, a second 24-hour time zone at 9:00 and the date at 12:00. This 5.6mm-thick self-winding mechanical movement has two barrels and a large screw balance, and offers a 50-hour power reserve when the chronograph mode is engaged. The subtle marriage of polished and satinfinished surfaces brings out this powerful timepiece’s character even more strongly. The sapphire crystal caseback shows off the decoration on the movements: the plate is circular-grained, bridges are beveled and the circular Côtes de Genève pattern and blued screws are the brand’s signature aesthetic; the PVD-treated dark gray winding rotor is engraved with the Piaget emblem. • 294 Grand Complications, Vol. VII
PiAGEt PiAGEt POLO FORtyFiVE – REF. G0A35001 In addition to the contrasts between light-colored metal and black rubber, polished steel and satin-brushed titanium, the Piaget Polo FortyFive is endowed with a technical touch thanks to multiple openings in the openworked dial, providing a view of the mechanism, which boasts a black PVD-treated circular-grained mainplate and the date disc. The numerals, hour markers and parts are entwined in a multidimensional ensemble in which every effort has been made to maintain excellent readability. The presence of bright red accents—on the hands, transfers and hour markers—stands out particularly well against the openworked dial with its black and metallic shades. Besides the chronograph and its flyback function, the Piaget 880P movement drives the hours, minutes, small seconds, date display and a 24-hour time zone indication.
