TOURBILLONS
PANERAI
RADIOMIR TOURBILLON GMT CERAMICA, 48MM – REF. PAM00348
As part of Officine Panerai’s dual-timepiece tribute to the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei’s discovery of the four moons of Jupiter,
the ambitious manufacturer set about creating the aesthetically groundbreaking Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Ceramica 48mm, also
known affectionately to Panerai fans as “Lo Scienziato.” The main novelty of Lo Scienziato is its refined skeletal structure, made
of a fine mesh that supports the external band (which has small ecru luminescent Arabic numerals and hour markers) as well as
subdials showing small seconds, tourbillon movement and AM/PM. The second time zone is indicated by a third central hand. It
is powered by the 277-component P.2005/S movement, which is characterized by its tourbillon that rotates perpendicularly to
the balance axis and completes two rotations per minute to guarantee greater precision. The case itself is made of a zirconium
oxide ceramic, an exceptionally hard, corrosion-resistant material, and is water resistant to 10 bar (100m), qualifying it as a true
traditional Radiomir. This tribute to the Florentine astronomer will be available in a limited edition of 30 pieces.
