ROTATING BEZELS AND MOBILE INNER BEZEL RINGS
Instead of a window or aperture, some watches use a rotating
bezel or mobile inner bezel ring serving to select the name of one
of the 24 reference cities. The Lange 1 Time Zones by A. Lange &
Söhne has two subdials fitted with hour/minute hands and day/
night indicators. home time generally appears on the larger of the
two. The second time zone (local time) is adjusted by means of a
pusher serving to rotate the inner bezel ring bearing the name of
the 24 cities. The user can choose to reverse priorities by giving
pride of place to local time (travel time) and by synchronizing
it with the patented large date display. The Swiss brand
Vogard has presented a patented “timezoner ® ” system
serving to adjust the second time zone via the bezel. The
user pulls out the security lever on the side of the case
in order to select the required city by rotating the bezel,
thus causing the additional hour hand to display the
corresponding local time on a 24-hour scale.
