She stood in her apartment, but it was peculiarly barren and devoid of color. It was as if<br />
the light had been robbed of it, the diversity stolen away in the night while it was sleeping.<br />
Cameron remained the only thing with color… a sore thumb protruding, that’s what she was.<br />
“So this is hell, then?”<br />
“Hardly.” It was Ivan. He reclined against the far wall of the kitchen, chomping on a<br />
chunk of kitchen counter he’d liberated with his claws. “No, this is more like hell’s waiting<br />
room.” Cameron took a step back.<br />
“You’re dead.”<br />
“Yeah, well so are you. At least for the moment.”<br />
“What do you mean?”<br />
“I have to say you’re doing better than I did. Two months before your first fatality, that’s<br />
got to be a new record. At least for our kind.”<br />
“Why are you here? What is here? Why am I here?”<br />
Ivan smiled. “Well, let’s just say we’ve got plenty of time to discuss it.”<br />
