CHANGE IN PERCEPTION OF PROBLEMS OVER THE COURSE OF THE<br />

ACADEMIC YEAR<br />

To study more closely how <strong>Rowan</strong> experiences affected <strong>the</strong> perception of problems in<br />

SEM for women, we looked at <strong>the</strong> changes in females’ perception of <strong>the</strong> problems from<br />

<strong>the</strong> Fall <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Spring semester. As we found for <strong>the</strong> males, <strong>the</strong>re was quite a bit of change<br />

in perception of <strong>the</strong> problems from <strong>the</strong> Fall <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Spring, with from 25-55% of <strong>the</strong><br />

female students changing <strong>the</strong>ir responses <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> questions (Table IIG-13). On almost<br />

every question, a higher proportion weakened <strong>the</strong>ir perception of <strong>the</strong> issue as problematic<br />

in <strong>the</strong> Spring (on <strong>the</strong> only question in which as high a proportion increased <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

perception of <strong>the</strong> issue as problematic, <strong>the</strong> wording was slightly changed from Fall <strong>to</strong><br />
