APPENDIX B ENGINEERING SELF-CONFIDENCE FACTORS The indices of engineering self-confidence were derived from a factor analysis of about 20 survey items related to self-confidence that the students were asked in the Fall survey. Items with low commonality were excluded. The remaining items and their loading on the four resulting factors are presented in Table Appendix B-1.
