MRET’s Massachusetts Green Power Partnership (MGPP) provides financial assistance<br />

to stimulate private investment in the construction of new clean electric-generating<br />

facilities in Massachusetts and other New England states. Specifically, the MGPP aims<br />

to promote project stability by providing long-term contracts for the renewable-energy<br />

credits associated with the generation of electricity by renewable-energy resources.<br />

<strong>Fuel</strong> cells using renewable fuels are eligible.<br />

7. EMERGING BUSINESS SUPPORT<br />

The Energy SIG of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and event sponsors (which<br />

include the quasi-public agency, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative) are offering a<br />

$125,000 business presentation competition. Five winners will be selected in the final<br />

competitive round and each winner will share a portion of the $125,000 prize. The<br />

events are designed to help contestants clarify their strategic vision, vet their business<br />

plans, and boost their business communication skills.<br />

<strong>Fuel</strong> cells projects are eligible to participate in the event under the renewable energy<br />

category.<br />
