Biomass-Related Equipment Tax Deduction<br />

Tax deductions are allowed for the value of biomass boilers, gasifiers, furnaces,<br />

turbinegenerators, storage facilities, feedstock processing or drying equipment,<br />

feedstock trailers and interconnection transformers; and biomass materials used for<br />

processing into biopower, biofuels or bio-based products.<br />

"Biofuels" is defined as biomass converted to liquid or gaseous fuels such as ethanol,<br />

methanol, methane and hydrogen.<br />

The New Mexico Hydrogen Business Council is a non-profit trade association dedicated<br />

to New Mexico’s goal of implementating and deploying a hydrogen economy in the state.<br />

Honorary members include the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and<br />

Renewable Energy program, the New Mexico Economic Development Department; New<br />

Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department; and the New Mexico<br />

congressional delegation. NASA-White Sands and Sandia Labs, the University of<br />

Nevada, and several international groups and associations also participate in the<br />

organization.<br />
