The Missouri Department of Natural Resources Energy Center announced in 2002 that
limited funding was available for a fuel cell demonstration project. The Center expressed
interest in demonstrating a beta, pre-commercial or commercial unit, 10 kW or smaller,
for light commercial or residential electricity and heat applications. The unit would be
tested in conjunction with interested partners (several Missouri rural electric
cooperatives and/or municipal utilities have indicated interest in a fuel cell project). The
Center also would also consider a vehicular fuel cell demonstration.
