Customer-generators producing electricity with qualifying systems are eligible for net<br />

metering. Net metering must be provided up to 0.5% of a utility's historic single-hour<br />

peak load. Generating capacity of the net metered unit must be less than 25 kW.<br />

Qualifying systems include: fuel cells.<br />

The Oregon Department of Energy offers the Business Energy Tax Credit to those who<br />

invest in energy conservation, recycling or renewable energy resources. Trade,<br />

business or rental property owners who pay taxes for a business site in Oregon are<br />

eligible for the tax credit. Project owners can also be Oregon non-profit organizations,<br />

tribes or public entities that partner with an Oregon business or resident who has an<br />

Oregon tax liability. <strong>Fuel</strong> cell projects are eligible for the tax credit. The credit of 35% of<br />

eligible project costs includes all costs directly related to the project, including equipment<br />

cost, engineering and design fees, materials, supplies and installation costs.<br />
