Eligible systems may be up to 2 MW in size and use renewable resources including photovoltaics, landfill gas, wind, biomass, geothermal electric, anaerobic digestion, small hydroelectric and fuel cells. These rules created both interconnection standards and net metering 40

Eligible renewable technologies include fuel cells using renewable resources, solar thermal electric, photovoltaics, landfill gas, wind, biomass, hydroelectric, geothermal electric, CHP/cogeneration, anaerobic digestion, microturbines, and other distributed generation technologies.
