In 2005, the Colorado Public Utilities Commission implemented rules for the state’s RPS,<br />

allowing net metering for customer-generated electricity from all renewable energy<br />

resources of up to 2 MW capacity (includes fuel cells using hydrogen derived from<br />

renewable resources). This renewably-produced power may be applied to the utility’s<br />

renewable generation requirement.<br />

Alternative <strong>Fuel</strong> Vehicle Tax Credit<br />

An income tax credit is available for the incremental cost of purchasing an AFV or for the<br />

conversion of a vehicle to operate using an alternative fuel. Credits, through 2009,<br />

range from 50% for LEVs to 85% for ZEVs. Beyond 2009, credits range from 25% to<br />

75%.<br />
