The Renewable Resources Matching Fund (RRMF) was created by the state's Public<br />
Benefits Fund and supports renewable resource research and development and<br />
community demonstration projects using renewable-energy technologies. The RRMF is<br />
administered by the Maine Technology <strong>Institute</strong>. Funding of up to $50,000 per project is<br />
available through the program.<br />
The one project that has been funded through RRMF is the Chewonki Hydrogen Energy<br />
Center, which was approved for a demonstration project to accelerate deployment of<br />
renewable energy systems using hydrogen generators, storage and fuel cells.<br />

In 2005 the Maryland Public Service Commission of Maryland adopted final rules for<br />
implementation of the RPS Program. The program requires a percentage of retail<br />
electricity be supplied from renewable energy sources, ranging from 4% in 2006 and<br />
