68 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Balanced nutrition for everyone Groupe SEB's commitment to a balanced diet has resulted in a major new campaign for the Foundation. The Foundation is supporting the NGO Care, which is managing a project with the Groupe SEB subsidiary in Brazil. Employees are getting actively involved in setting up an educational programme to teach children and teenagers about sustainable development and healthy eating. In France, two major programmes for combating malnutrition amongst disadvantaged people are currently being developed. One of these has been set up Communautés www.fondation.groupeseb.com in 34 "solidarity" food shops in the ANDES network to bring parents and children closer together as they prepare healthy meals to share. The other is to support Fondalim centres providing food aid, in particular in social centres in the Burgundy region of France. Volunteers from the Groupe SEB Foundation help to organise cookery workshops, which promote healthy eating habits and create social or even family ties. Recipe cards, developed in collaboration with the chef Bruno Blancho from the Cookery Workshop at the Group's Selongey site, are handed out so that people can cook at home. In the United States, All-Clad is supporting Michelle Obama's "Chef's Move to School" programme combating obesity amongst young people: 1,000 kitchen equipment sets have been donated, whilst chefs provide nutritional advice for people working in schools. This is leading to problems such as obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes, especially amongst young people. Aware of this increasing problem, Groupe SEB Brazil has made it a key part of its corporate philanthropy policy. Supported by the Groupe SEB Foundation, the subsidiary is involved in the CARE* programme for teaching about healthy eating in Brazil. This project involves training young volunteers in issues concerning the environment and food so that they in turn can raise awareness amongst school children and their families. With the help of games developed with Group employees, they are involved at six state schools in São Paulo. The objective is to get 180 volunteers and 3,000 children involved over a three-year period. * An international aid organisation set up in 1946 with the objective of combating poverty.
A cookery school is set up for eight apprentices at Auteuil Foundation, Lyon-Confluence, France. Employees at Groupe SEB Korea celebrate Christmas with 85 disadvantaged children. 69 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT A helping hand for equal opportunities In eastern China, Supor helped to open two new schools in 2012 (bringing the total to 12 since 2006), fitting out their canteens and libraries. An increasing number of employees are getting involved, providing individual support or teaching assistance. In France, Groupe SEB works alongside public authorities and other companies to support the "100 opportunities 100 jobs" scheme, which aims to fulfil an area's economic requirements, whilst also helping to re-establish equal opportunities for young adults from sensitive neighbourhoods. Group employees are also continuing to provide individual support in associations such as Nos Quartiers ont des Talents, the Télémaque Institute and the network of ”Missions locales” (access points for employment and social services). Group sites often open their doors to educational establishments, be it as part of work experience campaigns, careers advice or raising girls' awareness of jobs in industry such as the pilot scheme "Déployons Nos Elles" carried out in partnership with the French Ministry of Education. Involving consumers in sharing schemes With the aim of sharing its commitments to corporate responsibility with consumers, Groupe SEB has set up cause-related marketing campaigns - part of the sales price of a product is donated to an organisation. In the UNICEF-Tefal campaigns, for each product sold Tefal donates €1 or more to this charity for its programme for combating malnutrition in various regions worldwide. The first two campaigns, carried out since September 2010 in 19 countries, resulted in donations of more than a million euros. In 2011-2012, a number of subsidiaries became involved - in Finland, France or Turkeythrough a wide-scale advertising campaign, which took the scheme to a new level. A third campaign covering multiple products has already begun and will continue in 2013. In the same vein, the Panex brand in Brazil and Extra hypermarkets are donating a sum for every cooking utensil sold to the AACD, an association providing aid to disabled children. Beyond corporate philanthropy...
