40 - BASIC CHEMISTRY (3 UNITS) UC:CSU<br />
This course introduces non-science majors to chemical<br />
principles using current events presented in the media.<br />
Lectures are descriptive and conceptual. This course meets<br />
physical science transfer requirement without a laboratory.<br />
65 - INTRODUCTORY GENERAL CHEMISTRY<br />
(4 UNITS) UC:CSU<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Mathematics 123C with a grade of “C” or<br />
better or equivalent, or concurrent enrollment in Mathematics 123C.<br />
This course introduces the principles of inorganic<br />
chemistry emphasizing algebra based computations. This<br />
course serves as a prerequisite to Chemistry 066 and 101.<br />
66 - ORGANIC AND BIOCHEMISTRY FOR<br />
ALLIED HEALTH MAJORS (5 UNITS) UC:CSU<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Chemistry 065 and Mathematics 123C<br />
with grades of “C” or better.<br />
This course covers the organic and biochemical principles<br />
found in physiology and metabolic processes.<br />
101 - GENERAL CHEMISTRY I (5 UNITS)<br />
UC:CSU<br />
Prerequisites: Completion of Chemistry 065 and Mathematics 123C<br />
or equivalent with grades of “C” or better.<br />
Preparation: Eligibility for English 101, or concurrent enrollment in<br />
English 028.<br />
This is the first of two courses that introduces theory<br />
and laboratory topics dealing with general principles of<br />
chemistry. This course emphasizes chemical calculations<br />
as well as laboratory precision and accuracy utilizing<br />
quantitative techniques.<br />
102 - GENERAL CHEMISTRY II (5 UNITS)<br />
UC:CSU<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Chemistry 101 with a grade of “C” or<br />
better.<br />
This is the second of two courses that introduces theory<br />
and laboratory topics dealing with general principles of<br />
chemistry. This course emphasizes chemical calculations<br />
as well as laboratory precision and accuracy utilizing<br />
quantitative techniques.<br />
211 - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY FOR SCIENCE<br />
MAJORS I (5 UNITS) UC:CSU<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Chemistry 102 with a grade of “C” or<br />
better.<br />

chemistry with emphasis on the structure, stereochemistry<br />
and reactions of carbon compounds. Laboratory work<br />
covers preparation and isolation of organic compounds and<br />
the determination of their physical and chemical properties.<br />
212 - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY FOR SCIENCE<br />
MAJORS II (5 UNITS) UC:CSU<br />
Prerequisite: Completion of Chemistry 211 with a grade of “C” or<br />
better.<br />
This is the first of two courses introducing organic<br />

involving children.<br />
This course is a comprehensive study of physical,<br />
social, emotional, and cognitive development during the<br />
prenatal, infancy, early childhood, middle childhood, and<br />
adolescence periods of human growth.<br />
2 - EARLY CHILDHOOD: PRINCIPLES AND<br />
PRACTICES (3 UNITS) CSU<br />
Recommended for those interested in professions involving children.<br />
This is a survey course of early childhood education.<br />
Current practices and philosophies are compared.<br />
