85 - FIELD WORK II: DRUG/ALCOHOL (3 UNITS)<br />

Prerequisite: Psychology 84 with a satisfactory grade or equivalent.<br />
This class is designed to orient the student to the field<br />
of Human Services, Drug/Alcohol Studies. The primary<br />
emphasis is on the observations of the application of<br />
interpersonal relationship skills in drug/alcohol treatment<br />
and community settings. This class is intended for<br />
students new to Human Services field work. Basic<br />
counseling and communication skills will be taught.<br />

1 - REAL ESTATE PRINCIPLES (3 UNITS) CSU<br />
This is a fundamental real estate course covering the basic<br />
laws and principles of California real estate. It provides<br />
the background and terminology necessary for advanced<br />
study in specialized courses. This course is required for<br />
all real estate salesperson’s license applicants. It is the<br />
only course required to take the California Real Estate<br />
Sales exam.<br />
3 - REAL ESTATE PRACTICES (3 UNITS) CSU<br />
This course stresses day-to-day operations in real estate<br />
sales and brokerage activities. Subject areas include<br />
listing, prospecting, advertising, financing, sales<br />
techniques, escrow, and ethics. The course is part of<br />
the State’s educational requirements for the broker’s<br />
examination.<br />
5 - LEGAL ASPECTS OF REAL ESTATE I<br />
(3 UNITS) CSU<br />
This course is a study of California real estate law. Areas<br />
covered include rights related to property ownership<br />
and management, agency contracts, and application to<br />
real estate transfer, conveyance, probate proceedings,<br />
trust deeds, and foreclosure, as well as recent legislation<br />
governing real estate transactions. This course is part<br />
of the State’s educational requirements for the broker’s<br />
examination.<br />
7 - REAL ESTATE FINANCE I (3 UNITS) CSU<br />
This course stresses the analysis of real estate financing<br />
including lending policies and problems in financing<br />
transactions in residential, apartment, commercial,<br />
and special purpose properties. Methods of financing<br />
properties are also emphasized. This course applies<br />
toward the State’s educational requirements for the<br />
broker’s examination.<br />
9 - REAL ESTATE APPRAISAL I (3 UNITS) CSU<br />
This is an introductory course covering the purposes<br />
of appraisal, the appraisal process, and the different<br />
approaches, methods, and techniques used to determine<br />
the value of various types of property. Emphasis is placed<br />
on residential and single-unit properties. This course<br />
is part of the State’s educational requirements for the<br />
broker’s examination.<br />
14 - PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (3 UNITS) CSU<br />
This is a course for persons who plan to become<br />
real estate operators or owners of income-producing<br />
properties. Topics covered include the nature and types<br />
of property management and management techniques<br />
for contracting, leasing, space selling, renting, and rent<br />
scheduling. Budgets, purchasing, reports, and legal<br />
and professional relationships are topics also included.<br />
This course applies toward the State’s educational<br />
requirements for the broker’s examination.<br />
