A DMISSION AND REGISTRATION<br />
ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY<br />
You are eligible to attend <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong> if you meet any of the<br />
following criteria:<br />
• You have graduated from high school or have<br />
successfully passed the California High School<br />
Proficiency Examination.<br />
• You are over 18 years of age and are no longer<br />
attending high school and are capable of benefiting<br />
from the instruction offered.<br />
• You are under 18 years of age and not a high school<br />
student, with special permission as a full-time student.<br />
• CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT AT HARBOR<br />
COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL<br />
As a high school student you may enroll concurrently<br />
at <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong>. In addition to the application for<br />
admission, you must submit a separate Supplemental<br />
Application for Students in Grades K-12 form,<br />
approved and signed by your high school counselor<br />
and your Parent or guardian. Students in less than 9th<br />
grade require special processing. Call (310) 233-4021<br />
for details. Concurrent students are given the last<br />
priority for registration.<br />

procedures is available in the Office of Admissions and Records.<br />
PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSION &<br />
REGISTRATION<br />
Apply online on the <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong> home page at www.lahc.edu<br />
Every student will be assigned a student ID number when they<br />
apply. Providing your Social Security number is optional. It is only<br />
required for students applying for financial aid and/or who will be<br />
eligible for student tax credits.<br />
Complete all required information on the online application.<br />
All information requested on the application must be provided. The<br />
applicant must declare under penalty of perjury that all information<br />
on the application is correct. All information is subject to verification;<br />
falsification or withholding of information shall constitute grounds<br />
for dismissal.<br />
Student ID Number<br />
You will receive your student ID number and registration<br />
appointment by email once your application is processed.<br />
IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL APPLICANTS: Please make sure<br />
you submit a valid email address. You will receive a confirmation<br />
email once your online application has been submitted. You will<br />
receive your student ID number and registration appointment by email<br />
in five to ten business days. If you do not receive the emails in your<br />
email inbox, please check your spam/junk mail folder.<br />
NEW & RETURNING STUDENTS: Anyone who has never attended<br />
<strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong> and any previous <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong> student<br />
who has NOT attended the previous Fall and Spring semesters must<br />
file a new application.<br />
CONTINUING STUDENTS: Anyone who attended either the<br />
previous Fall or Spring semester does not need to reapply. You<br />
should have been issued a registration appointment. Go to www.<br />
lahc.edu and click on Register for Classes to log in to the Student<br />
Information System with your student ID number and PIN. Select<br />
the View Registration Appointment to see your registration date.<br />
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Students who are currently enrolled<br />
in high school may apply online. Additionally, you are required<br />
to submit a Special Student Attendance Approval Form to the<br />
Admissions & Records Office by mail or in person BEFORE you will<br />
be allowed to register for classes. The Special Student Attendance<br />
Approval Form must be signed by you, your high school counselor<br />
and your parent or guardian. We require the original documents and<br />
signatures; faxed forms and copies are NOT acceptable. A new Special<br />
Student Attendance Approval Form is required every semester for<br />
all concurrent students. High school students are limited to 11 units<br />
per semester (7 units in Summer Session).<br />
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Students who are not U.S. citizens<br />
but live outside of the United States and are interested in coming to<br />
the United States to study at <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong> must apply<br />
directly through the <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>College</strong> International Student<br />
Office. Application materials are available at the LAHC International<br />
Student website at http://www.lahc.edu/studyinlosangeles/. Students<br />
living outside of the U.S. who wish to take online classes while living<br />
outside the U.S. may file an online application (see Apply Online on<br />
the college home page www.lahc.edu).<br />
TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES<br />
Students can add classes online through the first day of the semester<br />
(or the first day of class for short term classes) or until the class is full.<br />
1. Go to www.lahc.edu<br />
2. Click on “Register for Classes” icon at the upper right<br />
hand corner of the webpage.<br />
3. Follow the instruction on the webpage to log onto<br />
the Student Information System to register for your<br />
classes.<br />
OPEN ENROLLMENT<br />
Unless specifically exempted by law, every course for which State<br />
aid is claimed is fully open to any person who has been admitted to<br />
the <strong>College</strong> and who meets the appropriate academic prerequisites.<br />
