Plan A<br />
The Associate in Arts degree in Kinesiology is designed for<br />
students who plan to transfer to the CSU system as Kinesiology<br />
majors, specifically to CSUDH, CSULB, CSULA or CSUN.<br />
The AA degree consists of a core general education component,<br />
18 units in the major, and additional elective units as needed<br />
to reach a minimum of 60 units overall.<br />
All students are strongly advised to meet with a counselor for<br />
academic planning. Students who plan to transfer will need<br />
to consult a counselor and the Transfer Center for specifi c<br />
information regarding preparation for the intended major<br />
at the colleges/universities of choice, in order to facilitate a<br />
seamless transition.<br />

SKILLS CERTIFICATE IN PHYSICAL TRAINING<br />
Content and curriculum within each course in the program<br />
is designed to present the student with the knowledge, skills<br />
and abilities to become a successful Personal Fitness Trainer.<br />
Students will learn how to apply their client’s health history,<br />
goals, and abilities integrating exercise science curriculum<br />
and practical training techniques into a systematic model that<br />
teaches students to progress their clients through different<br />
training levels and phases.<br />
The Certificate Program is designed to supply essential educational<br />
pathways and career opportunities to those seeking<br />
to start a career in the emerging fitness/health industry, and<br />
for allied health and medical professionals from all fields<br />
seeking to broaden their careers to become full or part-time<br />
personal Fitness Trainer.<br />
