Cannot Establish a Local (Out-of-Band) Management Session
If you are unable to establish a local (out-of-band) management session
with the switch through the terminal port on the front panel, do the
following:
Check to be sure that the RJ-45 serial management cable is securely
connected to the serial terminal port on the switch and to the RS-232
port on the terminal or personal computer.
Check to be sure that the operating parameters on the terminal or the
terminal emulation program, if you are using a personal computer,
have been set correctly. The default settings for the RJ-45 serial
terminal port are located in “Starting a Local Management Session” on
page 93.
Check to be sure that the terminal emulator application is compatible
with a VT-100 terminal.
Check to be sure that the configuration settings conform with those
given in “Starting a Local Management Session” on page 93.
