Project #10 –Stockton Boulevard Enhanced Bus
Description – Deployment of queue jumper lanes and transit signal priority at 5 locations on
Stockton Boulevard.
The City of Sacramento has deployed transit enhancements along a portion of Stockton Boulevard
as an enhanced bus demonstration project. The equipment includes transit signal priority, which
will give transit vehicles an early or extended green phase at a traffic signal under certain
conditions. There are also queue jumper lanes that allow transit vehicles to bypass a queue of
vehicles and receive an early green phase to advance in front of the queued vehicles.

o Improves transit operations – better schedule adherence, increased reliability, increased
readership.
