Transit Passenger and Fare Management (APTS04)
High Priority
This market package manages passenger loading and fare payments onboard transit vehicles using electronic
means. It allows transit users to use a traveler card or other electronic payment device. Sensors mounted on
the vehicle permit the operator and central operations to determine vehicle loads, and readers located either in
the infrastructure or onboard the transit vehicle allows electronic fare payment. Data is processed, stored, and
displayed on the transit vehicle and communicated as needed to the Transit Management Subsystem.
