The names of basic salts
1. The names of basic salts are formed by adding the prefix sub- to the name
of anion. E. g.: Magnesii subcarbonas – magnesium subcarbonate.
2. The names of organic salts of sodium and potassium consist of the name
of base and of the added to it through the hyphen the name natrium, kalium in
Nominativus. E. g.:
Barbitalum-natrium – barbitalum-sodium;
Benzylpenicillinum-kalium – benzylpenicillinum-potassium.
