The actuality of the topic:
A term is a word or a word-combination which is a name of professional
concept in any sphere of science, production or arts. The modern medical
terminology consists of three basic groups of terms:
1) anatomic and histologic; 2) clinical; 3) pharmaceutical.
Anatomic and histologic terminologies are studied according to International
Parisian nomenclature, which was approved at the 6-th International Congress of anatomists
in Paris in 1955.
The base of anatomic terminology is a nom. The studying of the grammatical
categories of a noun, the rules of the writing of nouns in the vocabulary, the
forming of the habits of determination of the noun stem, gender and declension allow the
students to master the anatomic terminology.
2. The specific aims:
1. To know the grammatical categories of a noun, the rules of the writing of nouns
in the vocabulary, of the determination of the noun stem, gender and declension.
2. To know the rules of forming and the ways of translation of the construction
“the non-agreed attribute”.
3. To be able to determine the stem, gender and declension of nouns.
4. To be able to write nouns in the vocabulary form.
5. To be able to make up and translate anatomic terms with the non-agreed
attribute from Latin into English and on the contrary.
