There are exceptions to this rule, i. e. there are some cases when a Greek
prefix is attached to the stem of a Latin word, and a Latin prefix is attached to the
stem of a Greek word, e. g.; endocervicalis – endocervical (from Greek prefix
endo- and Latin word cervicalis); intrathoracalis – intrathoracic (from Latin prefix
intra- and Greek word thoracalis).
