The actuality of the topic:
Each anatomic designation serves to mark the corresponding anatomic
formation. This designation should be exact, monosemantic and involving all
necessary signs of the anatomic formation. The considerable part of anatomic
terms are two- and many-word formations. Without understanding the structure of
a term it is impossible to learn to make up and translate anatomic terms.
2. The specific aims:
1. To know:
- grammatical categories of nouns;
- grammatical categories of adjectives;
- the rule of finding the practical stem of nouns;
- the rule of finding the stem of adjectives;
- the principles of forming the construction “non-agreed attribute”;
- the peculiarities of translating the construction “non-agreed attribute” from
Latin into English and from English into Latin;
- the principles of forming the construction “agreed attribute”;
- the peculiarities of translating the construction “agreed attribute”.
2. To know how:
- to determine the structure of two- and many-word anatomic term with
different types of attributes;
- to translate many-word anatomic terms from Latin into English;
- to translate many-word anatomic terms from English into Latin.
3. Basic knowledge, skills, habits, necessary for studying of the topic
(inter-disciplinary integration).
