* This small key allows its possessor to control a
shadesteel golem as if he had created it. The object looks
like an ordinary key but is surrounded by shadowy wisps
that draw in light. An identify spell reveals the command
word necessary to activate the key.
The possessions listed above are only the personal
items that Calais carries with her; the trade ring’s assets
far exceed what is detailed here. If Calais were not so
focused on revenge, she might make better use of the
resources available to her.
Light Blindness (Ex) Abrupt exposure to bright light (such as
sunlight or a daylight spell) blinds Calais for 1 round. In
addition, she takes a –1 circumstance penalty on attack
rolls, saves, and checks when in bright light.
Divine Counterspell Four times per day, Calais can counter a
spell as a supernatural ability. This ability functions as dispel
magic, but uses her cleric level rather than her caster
level, with a +2 synergy bonus from Knowledge (arcana)
(total bonus of +12).
Divine Magician In exchange for giving up access to a second
domain, Calais adds a limited breadth of arcane
spells to her cleric spell list. Each time she learns to cast
spells from a higher spell level, she adds a single abjuration,
divination, or necromancy spell from the sorcerer/
wizard list to her list of cleric spells.
Magic Disruption As long as Calais has an abjuration spell
prepared, she can disrupt the magic of other spellcasters.
As an immediate action, she can force another character
casting a spell to make a Concentration check (DC 15
+ the level of the highest-level abjuration spell she has
available, which is usually dispel law). If the check fails,
the spell is disrupted. Calais casts abjuration spells at +1
caster level.
Spontaneous Domain Casting Calais can lose a prepared
spell (other than a domain spell) to cast a spell from the
Chaos domain that is of the same level or a lower level.
In addition, she can choose to fi ll any or all of her domain
spell slots with infl ict spells.

Darzemaan was born into a drow house in a distant
part of the world—but when his mother was assassinated,
he was cast out. Now a warlock servant of
the demon lord Graz’zt, he spends most of his time
pursuing luxury.
Darzemaan was recruited by Tamesik when
he attempted to charm the disguised priestess into
handing over her jewels. When she promised him a
life of extravagance and power, he joined the Chelicerata.
