Decommissioning<br />

Redevelopment<br />

Purpose:<br />

To undertake studies to confirm that the wind farm can be<br />

decommissioned in accordance with any planning permit conditions,<br />

and to decommission the wind farm.<br />

Activity:<br />

The development of Decommissioning and Site Rehabilitation Plans.<br />

These should be developed in accordance with the any planning<br />

permit conditions, but also require modification to accommodate any<br />

changes to the local environment, land use and infrastructure. The<br />

works should involve monitoring by the appropriate specialist technical<br />

consultants.<br />

Consultation:<br />

Stakeholder input should be sought.<br />

Purpose:<br />

To undertake the necessary studies required to submit a new project<br />

for a new planning application (feeding back into the process at substage<br />

PA1.<br />

Activity:<br />

Submission of a new planning application in accordance with these<br />

guidelines for any proposed redevelopment of the wind farm site.<br />

Consultation:<br />

Stakeholder input should be sought.<br />

Redevelopment (D3)<br />

Redevelopment of the site, or repowering, will require new approval processes. Essentially<br />

these <strong>Guidelines</strong> should be reapplied with particular consideration given to any regulatory<br />

changes that have occurred in the meantime.<br />
