Operations Manual
Ladder/Truck Company Operations
Purpose
To establish a policy for Ladder/Truck Company operations.
Objective
To provide guidelines for the safe and proper operation of the Ladder/Truck Company.
Scope
All personnel shall adhere to this policy.
Responsibility
All Ladder/Truck Company Officers are responsible for the enforcement of these guidelines.
Maintenance
A. Personnel assigned to the Ladder/Truck shall, upon reporting to duty, inspect the apparatus in
order to is in working order.
B. All portable equipment shall be checked for fuel levels and each piece shall be started to insure
proper operation.
C. All SCBA shall be checked for air level and proper operation.
D. Ladder 1 and Ladder 4 shall be set up every Friday, operating the Ladder to its full range of
motion. If the weather does not permit the operation, it shall be conducted as soon as possible.
E. Road test daily. If the weather does not permit the test, it shall be conducted as soon as possible.
Policy
A. Personnel assigned to the Ladder/Truck Company shall be fully responsible for the operation of
that Company.
B. Personnel operating as a Ladder/Truck Company shall remain together as a Company the
Company may be split into sections such as roof ventilation and forcible entry, both of which are
functions of the Truck Company. The Incident Commander may shut down the Ladder/Truck
Company and utilize the manpower in different roles if needed.
C. All Ladder/Truck Company personnel shall adhere to the following guidelines.
