Operations Manual
Station Clean-Up
Purpose
To insure that all Fire Department facilities and equipment are properly maintained.
Objective
To establish a uniform and efficient schedule for maintaining Fire Department facilities and equipment.
Scope
All Fire Department personnel shall comply with this schedule.
Responsibility
All Fire Department Officers shall be responsible for the enforcement of this schedule.
Policy
A. All equipment must be checked by the on coming shift and an “Apparatus Inspection Sheet”
completed on each apparatus. The Company Officer is responsible for this. Anything found out of
order must be reported to the Battalion Commander or Shift OIC as soon as practical. Any
equipment needing repairs shall be taken care of immediately. The equipment shall be clean and
neat at all times.
B. The equipment check must be completed before any other clean up duties are begun.
C. The daily work schedule shall be laid out by the Battalion Commander/Station Officer at the
beginning of each shift and adjusted as required.
D. Equipment checks will begin at 08:00 hrs.
Daily Clean Up Schedule
To be checked and cleaned each day before the end of each shift:
A. Empty all trash cans and wash as needed.
B. Sweep all floors and mop as needed.
C. Vacuum carpets.
D. All bathrooms cleaned and restocked.
E. Sweep or hose bay floors.
F. Clean all bedrooms.
G. Clean and repair SCBA and face masks as needed.
