SECTION III: OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRSThe Office <strong>of</strong> Student Services, which is under the supervision <strong>of</strong> the Dean <strong>of</strong> Students,is located at 1310 Johnson Lane, Vallejo, CA 94592. This <strong>of</strong>fice coordinates a variety <strong>of</strong>student support service functions within the <strong>University</strong> including the publication anddistribution <strong>of</strong> the Student Handbook.Student Services interacts with students to develop and <strong>of</strong>fer support programs andservices which enrich students' experiences on campus. The Office <strong>of</strong> Student Services isavailable to students on a continuing basis supporting student concerns and challenges.Office <strong>of</strong> the RegistrarServices provided by the Office <strong>of</strong> the Registrar support every student at the <strong>University</strong>as well as all faculty and staff members who interact with those students. Specifically,the Office <strong>of</strong> the Registrar is responsible for: the integrity <strong>of</strong> student records for the<strong>University</strong>; the planning and execution <strong>of</strong> registration <strong>of</strong> students each semester;recording <strong>of</strong> grades; certification <strong>of</strong> degree requirements for students; verification <strong>of</strong>graduation; mailing <strong>of</strong> diplomas to graduates; preservation <strong>of</strong> student academic recordsand protection <strong>of</strong> their privacy (FERPA).Leave <strong>of</strong> absence, petition to return, add/drop and withdrawal forms are processedthrough the Office <strong>of</strong> the Registrar. The Office <strong>of</strong> the Registrar also provides continuingsupport for alumni, with services such as verification <strong>of</strong> enrollment and graduation,completing forms for licensure and providing <strong>of</strong>ficial transcripts.MATRICULATION AND REGISTRATIONAll students are required to register by the dates that are specified by the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> theRegistrar. Failure to register in a timely manner may exclude the student from attendingclasses. Full tuition and fees and prior debts must be paid in full on or beforeregistration day each academic term. Matriculation and promotion are subject tosatisfactory academic progress and completion <strong>of</strong> all academic requirements and alloutstanding debts to the <strong>University</strong>. Prior to registration, <strong>of</strong>ficial transcripts, including afinal transcript indicating conferral <strong>of</strong> baccalaureate degree, and transcripts from allcolleges and universities indicated on the student‟s application must be received by theRegistrar‟s <strong>of</strong>fice. Failure to comply with providing <strong>of</strong>ficial undergraduate transcriptswill result in the student being excluded from attending classes.<strong>2011</strong> – <strong>2012</strong> COM Student Handbook
