Is not on probation, has completed all prescribed academic requirements, has acumulative curriculum weighted average <strong>of</strong> 70% or higher, has no outstandinggrade which is incomplete, and has a passing grade for all clinical rotations. Foreight-week rotations, a passing grade must be received for each four-week block.4. Has taken and passed all components <strong>of</strong> COMLEX 1 and COMLEX 2. The onlyexception would be a suspension <strong>of</strong> the requirements by the Council on<strong>Osteopathic</strong> <strong>College</strong> Accreditation (COCA) <strong>of</strong> the AOA.5. Has performed and behaved in a manner which is ethical, pr<strong>of</strong>essional, andconsistent with the practice <strong>of</strong> <strong>Osteopathic</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong>.6. Has complied with all the legal and financial requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>Touro</strong> <strong>University</strong> –California.7. Has completed the academic requirements within six years followingmatriculation. (excluding approved leaves <strong>of</strong> absence).PARTICIPATION IN GRADUATION CEREMONIESStudents who have met all graduation requirements are expected, as part <strong>of</strong> their dutyas a pr<strong>of</strong>essional, to participate in graduation ceremonies.A student who has not met all graduation requirements as <strong>of</strong> June 1, but is in goodacademic standing and is anticipated to complete all requirements by December 31, willbe permitted to participate in graduation ceremonies with his/her class. However,participation does not signify that a degree has or will be granted and a diploma willnot be released until all requirements have been met. A student who elects toparticipate in ceremonies but who has not completed all graduation requirements willbe required to sign a document indicating understanding <strong>of</strong> this policy and agreeingnot to represent himself/herself as having graduated until the diploma has beenreleased.RELEASE OF DIPLOMASStudents who have met all graduation requirements as determined by audit <strong>of</strong> recordswill have diplomas sent to the permanent address on file with the Registrar within oneweek <strong>of</strong> graduation. The audit consists <strong>of</strong> the following four phases; completion isindicated on the “Authorization to Release Diploma” form and is initiated by theRegistrar:<strong>2011</strong> – <strong>2012</strong> COM Student Handbook
