Note: If the student elects not to take the month to study, a letter indicating understanding<strong>of</strong> the recommendation to take the time <strong>of</strong>f and electing not to comply must be submittedto the Associate Dean for Clinical Education prior to the start <strong>of</strong> the affected rotation.A passing score must be received prior to the resumption <strong>of</strong> rotations, and must be receivedwithin six (6) calendar months <strong>of</strong> the date <strong>of</strong> the first failure. If the second attempt score ispassing, the student will be removed from probation (unless there is another reason forprobation) and will proceed with his/her education. If the second attempt score is failing thestudent will be continued on academic probation, will be removed from rotations, and will takean <strong>of</strong>ficial leave <strong>of</strong> absence until a passing grade is received. The student will be required tomeet with the university Learning Specialist and a remediation plan will be recommended, incollaboration with the Student Promotion Committee. The student may be asked to return tocampus to complete the remediation plan.Failure <strong>of</strong> a third attempt may result in dismissal from the college. In no event will astudent who has not passed COMLEX Level 2 CE be allowed to graduate.At all times, the student will be responsible for completing all paperwork, including leave<strong>of</strong> absence and add/drop forms, if applicable.COMLEX Level 2 PE:COMLEX Level 2 PE is to be taken no later than 1 January <strong>of</strong> the student‟s 4th year. Apassing grade is required for graduation. Students in good academic standing as <strong>of</strong> 1 January<strong>of</strong> the OMS III curriculum are approved for registration for COMLEX Level 2 PE by theAssistant Dean <strong>of</strong> Clinical Education.In the event <strong>of</strong> a COMLEX Level 2 PE failure the student will be placed on academic probationand will be required to meet with the Student Promotion Committee.
