Therefore, attire should convey a pr<strong>of</strong>essional appearancewhenever the student is on <strong>University</strong> grounds, or on a clinical rotation or program.On campus the mode <strong>of</strong> dress is determined by each student‟s pr<strong>of</strong>essional judgment,unless a department has a dress code for particular activities. Clothing havingcaricatures, messages, symbols, etc., that can be construed based on societal norms to bevulgar, <strong>of</strong>fensive, or contribute to creating a hostile learning environment is consideredto be unacceptable attire, and demonstrates inappropriate pr<strong>of</strong>essional judgment that issubject to review and action by the Dean <strong>of</strong> Students.Dress Code for Clinical ActivitiesOn clinical rotations, students must wear dress that is pr<strong>of</strong>essional in nature. Whitecoats with TUC issued name tags are required. Male students should wear collaredshirts with ties. Female students should wear dresses or slacks/skirts with dress shirts.Closed-toed shoes are required. Specialty rotations or specific training sites maydesignate other prescribed clothing such as scrubs and/or tennis shoes. A pr<strong>of</strong>essionalappearance mandates the conservative use <strong>of</strong> jewelry, hair color, and clothing selection.Any clothing, hair color, jewelry, or body piercing that may cause a concern withaffiliated faculty, hospitals, or patients should be avoided. Students may be asked tochange their appearance to conform to the dress code <strong>of</strong> rotational sites. Additionaldress code policies are found within the student manual for clerkship‟s rotations.Student HealthMEDICAL RECORDSInformation provided by students at matriculation (e.g., immunization records,emergency medical form, medical history and physical information) is collected andretained by the Student Health Clinic.IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS<strong>Touro</strong> <strong>University</strong> requires that all incoming students submit documented pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria/tetanus, oral polio andhepatitis B prior to matriculating as students.
