AU-Audited courses will not be computed asattempted or successfully completed credit hours.REPEAT COURSES AND REMEDIATIONStudents will be allowed to repeat a failed course one time in order to obtain a passinggrade. Failed courses include course grades that fall below 70%, U-Unsatisfactory/Failure, W-Withdrawal or dropped course, or W/UWithdrawal/Unsatisfactory. Students who fail the repeated course may only attemptthe course a third time with permission <strong>of</strong> the Student Promotion Committee, however,Title IV aid will not be awarded for any additional attempts at that course. Except for<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Osteopathic</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> pre-clinical courses, as addressed below, students willnot be awarded financial aid for repeated courses with an original grade <strong>of</strong> 70% orhigher.If a student repeats a course, both the original attempt and the repeated attempt will becounted for purposes <strong>of</strong> the maximum time frame and completion rate calculations <strong>of</strong>this Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.At the discretion <strong>of</strong> course faculty, as an alternative to repeating an entire course,students may be allowed to remediate a course grade <strong>of</strong> U-Unsatisfactory. Remediation<strong>of</strong> a course may include submitting additional work for evaluation or revising priorassignments. If a U-Unsatisfactory grade has been successfully remediated aU/number will replace the U on the transcript (i.e.U/70). The “U” denotes the initialgrade <strong>of</strong> unsatisfactory and the “number” represents the final recorded grade for theremediated course. A remediated grade will not exceed 70%. Only the “number” willbe factored into calculation <strong>of</strong> a student‟s cumulative GPA.MAXIMUM CUMULATIVE GRADE—POINT AVERAGE (GPA)All students in programs other than the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Osteopathic</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> are expectedto complete degree requirements after having attempted not more than 150 percent <strong>of</strong>the number <strong>of</strong> credit hours <strong>of</strong> course work required for the degree program, roundeddown to the nearest credit.
