APPENDIX B: TOURO UNIVERSITY CALIFORNIA BYLAWSAND REGULATIONS OF THE CODE OF RESPONSIBILITIESAND RIGHTS OF THE STUDENTS OF TOURO UNIVERSITYThe following bylaws and regulations are promulgated to augment and support theCode <strong>of</strong> Responsibilities and Rights <strong>of</strong> the Students <strong>of</strong> TUC.Student Concerns and GrievancesIt is recognized that from time to time students will encounter situations or developconcerns while pursuing pr<strong>of</strong>essional degree programs. These may affect relationshipswith fellow students, faculty, staff and/or administration. Any issue concerning studentconduct will be resolved by one <strong>of</strong> two methods: (1) an informal method utilizing theOffice <strong>of</strong> Student Services or (2) a formal method <strong>of</strong> resolution. The informal method <strong>of</strong>resolution will be initially used for all cases unless the Associate Dean <strong>of</strong> StudentServices believes that the incident is severe enough initially to warrant a formal hearing.Conduct ViolationsThe following acts are considered to be a violation <strong>of</strong> acceptable student conduct.(Please refer to section on Student Academic Ethics for additional conductviolations):Cheating: Unauthorized use <strong>of</strong> a text, notes or other aids during an exam,copying the work <strong>of</strong> another student, or obtaining and using a copy <strong>of</strong> anexamination in advance <strong>of</strong> its administration.Plagiarism: Presenting as one‟s own the work <strong>of</strong> another without properacknowledgment; deceitful practice – utilizing a substitute or acting as a<strong>2011</strong> – <strong>2012</strong> COM Student Handbook
