expected to complete degree requirements within 150 percent <strong>of</strong> the typical 4 full-timeequivalent program academic years.If it is determined at any time within a student‟s course <strong>of</strong> study that they will beunable to graduate within the 150% time-frame, the student will become immediatelyineligible for financial aid.CHANGE OF PROGRAMIf a student changes his or her program <strong>of</strong> study, all attempted credits that apply to thenew program <strong>of</strong> study will be used to calculate the student‟s progress under thestandards <strong>of</strong> satisfactory academic progress.OTHER INSTITUTIONSWhen the program grants a student transfer credit toward degree completionrequirements, no grade will be calculated for those courses, nor will they count towardthe 67% progress requirement. Cumulative grade point average and coursescompleted, for the purposes <strong>of</strong> financial aid, will be calculated only on the curricularrequirements remaining after transfer or experiential credit is awarded. The maximumtime frame calculation will include any transfer credits applied to the degreerequirements.PROBATION OR SUSPENSION OF TITLE IV ELIGIBILITYGrade point average will be monitored at the end <strong>of</strong> each semester. Minimumcompletion rate and maximum timeframe will be monitored annually at the conclusion<strong>of</strong> each academic year ending with the spring semester. Any student failing to meeteither the minimum cumulative GPA standard at the end <strong>of</strong> any semester or theminimum completion rate standard at the end <strong>of</strong> any academic year will be placed onprobation for up to two consecutive semesters <strong>of</strong> probation. The financial aid <strong>of</strong>fice willsend a written notice to students who are placed on financial aid probation with a copy<strong>of</strong> the written notice to the Academic Dean. A student is eligible for financial aidduring the probationary period. If a student has not regained satisfactory academicprogress at the end <strong>of</strong> the probationary period, financial aid will be suspended untilthey have resolved the credit hour deficiency from the last evaluation period and/orbrought their GPA up to the minimum requirement. Students suspended fromfinancial aid eligibility but continuing coursework at <strong>Touro</strong> may contact the StudentFinancial Aid Office for a SAP re-evaluation after the completion <strong>of</strong> any semester. If astudent meets the maximum time-frame and cumulative GPA requirements at thattime, they will regain federal student aid eligibility for the next semester.APPEALS PROCEDURES<strong>2011</strong> – <strong>2012</strong> COM Student Handbook
