(partitioned data set member or sequential data set), for example, ‘JONESX.MYALIAS.UA’, type the following:eFT> set help search 'JONESX.MYALIAS.UA' (SITE)The order of the SEARCH list is important. In the example above, NetEx/eFT will look first in theMYALIAS.UA help file upon any help request. If no match is found there, NetEx/eFT continues on to readthe next help file in the SEARCH list, in this case the (SITE) default help file.It may be desirable to store any site help files along with the NetEx/eFT default one, in the root directory. The (SITE) keyword allows for appending member names as shown below:eFT> set help search (SITE)myalias (SITE)This example instructs NetEx/eFT to first look for any help requests in the member MYALIAS in the (SITE)partitioned data set, followed by the NetEx/eFT default file EFTHELP from the same pds. Refer to “IBMz/OS NetEx/eFT SEARCH Keywords (SITE), (USER), and (NONE)” on page 104 for more information. To create a site or user help file, use any standard text editor avail-able on the system. The format of the helpfile must follow the example below:Where:Topic LevelTopic NameHelp TextTopic_Level Topic_Name....................................................Help text..................................................Topic_Level Topic_Name....................................................Help text..................................................is a numeric value from 1 to 9 indicating the help level rep-resenting this Topic_Name. Thefirst Topic_Level of all help files must be level 1. This is the name the user types to obtainhelp text (e.g. HELP SENd). This string should be limited to 15 characters in length for outputformatting purposes. The Topic_Name may include upper case characters followed bylower case characters in order to allow an abbreviation on the help request.is the actual help text the user will see in response to a help request. All help text should becharacter (text) data only. Users should be careful not to include unprintable characters, includingtabs (multiple spaces are recommended) and control characters. The following is an abbreviated version of the NetEx/eFT standard help file to be used as a reference whencreating site or user help files:1. ASKThe ASK command prompts a user for one or more responses...2. QUAlifiersThis is where the qualifiers for the ASK command would be describedwithin the help file -- as a sub-topic to the ASK command.2. EXamplesAnd this is where any ASK examples would be shown. This sub-topicto ASK is the same level as QUAlifiers.1. CONnectThe CONNECT command is used to establish a connection to a remotehost on the network...(This is a new top-level topic.)REF-eFT213-R5.4-08 Advanced Local User’s Guide Page 107
