DIR Alias CommandDescriptionThe DIR alias command issues DIRECTORY as a system command on the remote host computer to whichthere is an active connection. The contents of the directory specified by the command are displayed.FormatCommand Qualifiers ParametersDIR[directory]Where:DIRdirectory(required) the verb for this command. The minimum spelling is DIR.(optional) the name of the directory to display. FTP Alias CommandDescriptionThe FTP alias command is used to establish a connection to a remote host on the network. The host namespecified must exist in the local TCP/IP “hosts” database (either in the local hosts file, or accessible throughDNS). The FTP alias command issues the NetEx/eFT CONNECT command to establish the connection. Referto the “CONNECT Command” on page 118 for a description of CONNECT processing.FormatCommand Qualifiers ParametersFTPhost [username] [password]Where:FTPhostusernamepasswordExamples(required) the verb for this command. The minimum spelling is FTP.(required) the name of the remote host computer to which the connection should be established(required) the name of the user to use for the login on the remote host computer.
