LOGIN Alias CommandDescriptionThe LOGIN alias command is used to establish a connection to a remote host on the network. The host namespecified must exist in the local network hosts database (either in the local hosts file, accessible through DNS,or <strong>NetEx</strong>/IP NCT file). The LOGIN alias command issues the <strong>NetEx</strong>/eFT CONNECT command to establishthe connection.The LOGIN alias prompts for login information and issues a connect command to the specified host. Anymissing parameters are prompted for. The password is captured in ‘secure’ mode so it does not display on theuser’s terminal.Refer to the description of qualifiers in the “CONNECT Command” section, on page 101, for further information.FormatCommand Qualifiers ParametersLOGin[host] [username] [password][qualifiers...]Where:LOGINhostusernamepasswordqualifiersExamples(required) the verb for this command. The minimum spelling is LOG.(prompt) the name of the remote host computer to which the connection should be established(prompt) the name of the user to use for the login on the remote host computer.
