SET HOST CommandDescriptionThe SET HOST command allows you to select a host as the current “active” host. SET HOST is typicallyused following a DISCONNECT command in order to activate some other remote connection that is currentlyidle. You can either specify a host name or host number on the command line. The host number is obtained fromthe SHOW HOST command.FormatCommand Qualifier ParameterSET HOsthostnameWhere:SETHOsthostname(required) the verb for this command.(required) the subject for this command. The minimum spelling is HO.(required) host name or host number of a previously established connection.ExamplesAssume the following connections have already been made:eFT> connect vaxa scott johneFT> connect sun01 meyers edTyping the SHOW HOST command then would result in:eFT> show hosteFT: (1) Host=vaxa User=scotteFT: active -->(2) Host=sun01 User=meyersWe can use SET HOST here to “reactivate” the first connection (to host vaxa) in one of two ways:eFT> set host 1oreFT> set host vaxaThe result would be the same:eFT> show hosteFT: active --> (1) Host=vaxa User=scotteFT: (2) Host=sun01 User=meyersNow any NetEx/eFT command that requires a remote connection (e.g., SEND and RECEIVE), would communicatewith host vaxa. Note that if two or more sessions exist with one host (e.g., vaxa), a SET HOST(host) command will activate the lowest numbered session with that host.Page 156 Command Descriptions REF-eFT213-R5.4-08
