eFT> loginHostname? sunburnUsername? newuserPassword? _______eFT: Connected to Service Initiator on host 'sunburn'.======================================================================Last login: Thu Apr 5 10:23:08 2012Sun Microsystems Inc. SunOS 5.10 Generic January 2005===================================================eFT: Logged in as user 'newuser'.The SHOW HOST command can be used again to display the list of connections held by this session:eFT> show hosteFT:(1) Host=BLUESKY User=guesteFT: active ----> (2) Host=SUNBURN User=newuserNotice that SUNBURN is now flagged as the active host. This means that any file transfer or remote commandexecution will be directed to it instead of host BLUESKY. The SHOW REMOTE command also willdisplay the remote environment for host SUNBURN since it is now active. The connection to hostBLUESKY remains but is in an idle state. To make it the active connection, the SET HOST command is usedas:eFT> set host blueskyoreFT> set host 1Now a look at the host display will show that BLUESKY is the active host:eFT> show hosteFT: active ----> (1) Host=BLUESKY User=guesteFT: (2) Host=SUNBURN User=newuserHaving multiple host connections can be useful for managing system activities on a number of hosts from asingle point. For instance, a user on one host can send messages to a number of other hosts. Or a user can startup jobs on several other hosts all from a single terminal on the network.Disconnecting from a HostTo terminate an existing connection, the DISCONNECT command is used. Assume two connections are currentlyestablished to hosts BLUESKY and SUNBURN respectively, where BLUESKY is the active connection. The following will terminate this connection:eFT> disconnecteFT: Disconnected from host BLUESKY.To verify the connection has been broken, use the SHOW HOST command:eFT> show hosteFT: (2) Host=SUNBURN User=newuserFollowing a disconnect, there is no active host. In order to make an existing idle connection active, use theSET HOST command. The following command will make the connection to SUNBURN active:eFT> set host sunburnSHOW HOST will now indicate the change:eFT> show hostPage 22 IBM z/OS Local User’s Guide REF-eFT213-R<strong>5.4</strong>-08
