Proportion Receiving Core Contacts by EthnicityIn the cohort of Plunket children born during July 2007–June 2008, a higher proportion ofEuropean/Other > Pacific > Māori children received their Core 1–7 contacts. For thiscohort, the Core 1 and 7 contacts were the least likely to be received, while the Core 2–5contacts were the most likely to be received by children of all ethnic groups (Figure 75).Similarly, in the cohort of Plunket children born during July 2010–June 2011, the proportionreceiving their Core 1–5 contacts remained higher for European/Other > Pacific > Māorichildren. When compared to the 2007/2008 birth cohort however, the proportion receivingtheir Core 1 contact had increased for all ethnic groups (Figure 76).Proportion Receiving Core Contacts by NZDep Index DecileIn the cohort of Plunket children born during July 2007–June 2008, a higher proportion ofchildren from the least deprived and average (NZDep deciles 1 and 5) areas received theirCore 1–6 contacts than did children from the most deprived (NZDep decile 10) areas.Differences by NZDep decile were less evident for the Core 7 contact (Figure 77).Similarly, in the cohort of Plunket children born during July 2010–June 2011, a higherproportion of children from the least deprived and average (NZDep deciles 1 and 5) areasreceived their Core 1–5 contacts than did children from the most deprived (NZDep decile10) areas. When compared to the 2007/2008 birth cohort however, the proportionreceiving their Core 1 contact had increased for children from all three NZDep deciles(NZDep deciles 1, 5 and 10) (Figure 78).Midland Region Distribution and TrendsProportion Receiving Core ContactsOf the Waikato Plunket cohort born during July 2007–June 2008, 65.6% had received theirCore 1 contact, as compared to 72.6% in the Bay of Plenty, 81.2% in Lakes DHB, 78.4% inTairawhiti and 90.9% in <strong>Taranaki</strong>. The Core 2–4 contacts were the most likely to bereceived by children in all DHBs, while the Core 6 and 7 contacts were the least likely to bereceived (Figure 79).In the Plunket cohort born during July 2010–June 2011 however, the proportion receivingtheir Core 1 contact in the Waikato had increased to 81.6%, and in the Bay of Plenty to79.2%. For the other Midland DHBs however, the proportion receiving their Core 1 Contacthad either remained the same, or decreased (Figure 79, Figure 80, Figure 81).Well Child/Tamariki Ora Services - 175
