Midland Region DistributionFamily Violence Investigations in the Midland RegionDuring 2011, a large number of family violence investigations occurred in the 11 PoliceAreas which most overlapped the Midland Region catchments (Table 89). While thesefigures cannot be used to comment on trends in the prevalence of family violence duringthis period, they suggest that a large number of family violence incidents are occurring inthe Midland Region each year, and that (based on NZ level figures) children are likely tobe present at a large proportion of these.Table 89.
