Mortality: In Tairawhiti during 2005–2009, suicide mortality was significantly higher thanthe New Zealand rate, while in the remaining four Midland DHBs rates were notsignificantly different from the New Zealand rate. In total, 36 Waikato, 11 Lakes DHB, 31Bay of Plenty, 15 Tairawhiti, and 14 <strong>Taranaki</strong> young people died as the result of suicideduring this period (Table 115).Table 115.
