There were generally positive responses, with particularly high support for theLongton Leisure Centre and Western Coyney sports centre. There was themost uncertainty in relation to the proposals for Edensor, though it is not clearwhether this is in relation to the buildings or pitch proposals. The potentialrefurbishment of Sandon School pool received the lowest level of support, andthere is also a mixed reaction to the proposals for the relocation of FlorenceTennis and Bowls Club, and the refurbishment of the Beaufort Road TennisCourts. In terms of priorities, the new Longton Leisure Centre and theWestern Coyney sports centre get high levels of support.South Western area:There was a generally positive reaction to all the proposals, except in relationto Fallowfields Playing Fields. There is a mixed reaction to the proposals forSt Peters. In terms of priorities, the refurbishment of the Fenton Park TennisCourts and Trentham High School facilities were seen as the most important.Of least interest is the Fallowfields proposals and Blurton High School.Western area:There was generally very positive support for all the proposals. In terms ofpriorities, Shelton Pool was identified as the most important compared withthe proposals for Hanley Park and Trubshaw Cross coming in well behind.Facility Assessment37. Each sport site was visited and assessed to confirm its size along with otherdetails contained on the Active Places database. Each site was alsoassessed in relation to its quality. Where appropriate this was based onquality criteria closely linked to the industry standard, QUEST. This considershow users would view and experience the facility, scoring each element of thevisit from the entrance signage through the use of the reception area,changing facilities, and the sports facilities themselves.38.
