There are a sufficient number of netball courts within <strong>Stoke</strong>-on-Trent but thereare a number of issues:• Club netball in <strong>Stoke</strong>-on-Trent is wholly based upon indoor provision;• The 3 courts at Fenton Manor and 2 courts at Northwood are used tosuccessfully run the <strong>Stoke</strong>-on-Trent league and the junior county league;• The quality of both Fenton Manor and Northwood is poor limiting the level ofcompetition they can host;• Fenton Manor’s main arena court surface is not sufficient and the court runoffsare not suitable;• The roof of Northwood leaks on many occasions causing cancellations;• The number of indoor courts within <strong>Stoke</strong>-on-Trent means it is the hub forlocal competition within Staffordshire;• There are no suitable venues for big competitions;• The cost of netball courts are often a barrier to participation;• The commercial company managing Holden Lane High School which hashosted the U14 Staffordshire academy for two years, has been extremelyaccommodating and willing to negotiate on prices. The sports hall is excellentfor this purpose and has sufficient run- offs;• There are plans/developments to increase the number of players within the<strong>Stoke</strong>-on-Trent accredited netball clubs as well as an expansion of the juniorcounty league. This will put further pressure on facilities hosting leaguecompetition;• The main priority is modernisation of current facilities to encourage moreusage and a greater profile, within and outside, the County.Table tennis111. Indoor space is currently adequate for table tennis needs but there are someissues which need addressing:Clubs• St Peter’s High School is home to Penkhull Table Tennis Club which hasgained clubmark standard with a good junior section. The site has 12 tablesand hosts regional training. There will be a need to find a replacement venuewhen St Peter’s closes;• Trentham High School has high quality provision but no existing club.
